Kenn Lending is a musician with an extraordinary history. Since childhood he had a devotion to the American “roots” music. From the age of seven he learned to play the guitar and he formed already as a child a real blues band with some school friends. In 1980 he formed Kenn Lending Blues Band which earned high reputation not only in Denmark but in all of Europe.

 

A year before forming his own band he started working together with blues legend Champion Jack Dupree. Until Dupree passed away in 1992 the duo did over 1000 concerts together all over the world. Together they appear on 20 albums. Because of the partnership with Dupree the young Danish guitar player received a lot of respect from other well known blues artist such as Lillian Boutt’e, BB King, John Lee Hooker just to mention a few. Also many other blues artist such as Luther Allison, Louisiana Red and Memphis Slim started using Kenn Lending for recordings and concerts. In 1991 and 1996 Kenn also recorded with “The Band” – the legendary American rock band.

 

On all their 10 albums Kenn Lending Blues Band shows – besides to respect the heritage from the old blues masters – a very personal sound. The lyrics is highly personal statements and the high performance of the individual musicians along with a perfect sound, makes all the album’s milestones in the great career of Kenn Lending Blues Band.
