Estonian jazz vocalist and composer Karmen Rõivassepp is one of the greatest talents in Europe. Despite of her age she has already built herself a fast growing audience in her present home city, Aarhus in Denmark. In 2018 she was awarded with “Aarhus Jazz Talent”. During the last years she has been performing intensively among others with Danish Radio Big Band and Aarhus Jazz Orchestra. Karmen Rõivassepp is fully aware of the musical traditions and masters both mainstream jazz, contemporary jazz and latin jazz – both as singer and as composer.

 

Rõivassepp was born in Estonia in 1993 and grown up in a musical family where all the children learned to play the piano. This brought her a great knowledge of jazz harmonics and was a great help for her to evolve her amazing skills in scat singing. In 2012 Karmen moved to Aarhus (Denmark) where she still lives. In Aarhus she completed her education at the Music Academy (Jyske Musikkonservatorium).
